Musée d'Orsay

Jean-Baptiste BOYER

Le jour des peintres

Following the exhibitions of Peter Doig and Nathanaëlle Herbelin, the Musée d’Orsay continues to explore its relationship with contemporary painting, inviting you to meet 80 painters from the current French art scene. Over the course of an afternoon and evening, you will have a unique opportunity to speak freely with living artists, to discover their work and their view of the museum’s collections. An exceptional event not to be missed!

Thursday 19 September 2024, from 2.00pm to 9.30pm

Born in August 1990 in Versailles and trained as a decorative painter, Jean-Baptitse Boyer is part of the young generation of contemporary painting : the one that moves away from th "all-abstract" and the concept to create a contemporary art woven with oth references of today and savoir-faire established for centuries.

In a bowl is a painting that embraces the codes of classicism through the use of chiaroscuro. However, the artist incorporates identifiable contemporary elements, such as the setting of a skatepark and the woman's clothing and posture.
